Phil spectre dead12/31/2023 The magical music we were able to make together, was inspired by our love. Meeting him and falling in love was like a fairytale. He was in complete control, directing everyone. When I was working with Phil Spector, watching him create in the recording studio, I knew I was working with the very best. It’s a sad day for music and a sad day for me. Ronnie Spector, the lead vocalist of the Ronettes and Spector's former wife, posted a tribute on Instagram: After that, Spector co-produced Yoko Ono's 1981 Season Of Glass album. His last fully completed production project was the Ramones' 1980 End Of The Century album. His '70s credits include Dion, Cher, and Leonard Cohen, among others.Īlthough during the 2000's, Spector produced sessions for Celine Dion and British indie rock band Starsailor, none of the material has been released. He also worked on the final Beatles' release Let It Be, as well as John Lennon's albums John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, Imagine, Some Time In New York City, and Rock N' Roll, and George Harrison's All Things Must Pass, The Concert For Bangladesh, and Living In The Material World. Spector is best remembered for co-writing and producing such hits as “Be My Baby,” “Baby, I Love You,” and “Walking In The Rain,” by the Ronettes, “You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling” by the Righteous Brothers, “He's A Rebel,” and “Da Doo Ron Ron” by the Crystals, “(Today I Met) The Boy I'm Gonna Marry” by Darlene Love, “To Know Him Is To Love Him” by the Teddy Bears, and “River Deep, Mountain High,” by Ike & Tina Turner, among others. In the years prior to Clarkson's murder, Spector was known in the music business as an extremely eccentric, mentally unstable, and often violent recluse, crippled at the prospect of being compared against his watershed early-'60s works. Her energy, brightness and love of life have sustained her family since her murder 18 years ago.” The San Joaquin County medical examiner will determine an official cause of death.”ĭonna Clarkson, the mother of Lana Clarkson - Spector's murder victim issued a statement upon the news of Spector's death: “Lana Clarkson was a warm, compassionate, kind, loving woman who would be 58 years old now. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation reported Spector was “pronounced dead of natural causes around 6:35 p.m. Spector had been serving a 19-year sentence for a 2009 murder conviction of the 2003 shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson in his Los Angeles home. Spector, who was renown for his famed “Wall of Sound” record productions of the early-'60s died on January 16th, of reportedly Covid-related issues at Stockton’s California Health Care Facility, California State Prison. Legendary record producer and convicted murderer Phil Spector is dead at age 81, according to Billboard.

Mockflow wireframe pro12/31/2023 We spend dozens of hours researching and testing apps, using each app as it's intended to be used and evaluating it against the criteria we set for the category. What makes a great wireframe tool?Īll of our best apps roundups are written by humans who've spent much of their careers using, testing, and writing about software. Once the designers agree on the wireframe's basic structure, it can be turned into a high-fidelity prototype that looks closer to the final product. Designers use basic shapes like rectangles and lines to indicate what will later turn into complex elements like images, text blocks, and interactive buttons. Wireframes are the first idea-the minimalist outline-of things like mobile apps, landing pages, and websites. UXPin for handing off design documentation to developers After intensive research and testing, I narrowed it down to the seven wireframing tools I'd recommend. To help you find a wireframe app that will let you show off your designs, I dug into dozens of options. Details are available in Course 3 of the Specialization, Web Design: Strategy and Information Architecture. While many designers still rely on a pencil and paper to sketch out their ideas, there are plenty of digital wireframing apps that make things simple, fast, and easily shareable. Learners enrolled in the UI/UX Design Specialization are eligible for an extended free trial (1 month) of a full product suite of UX tools from Optimal Workshop. User interface and user experience design is a high-demand field, but the skills and knowledge you will learn in this Specialization are applicable to a wide variety of careers, from marketing to web design to human-computer interaction. You’ll learn current best practices and conventions in UX design and apply them to create effective and compelling screen-based experiences for websites or apps. In this sequence of four courses, you will summarize and demonstrate all stages of the UI/UX development process, from user research to defining a project’s strategy, scope, and information architecture, to developing sitemaps and wireframes. The UI/UX Design Specialization brings a design-centric approach to user interface and user experience design, and offers practical, skill-based instruction centered around a visual communications perspective, rather than on one focused on marketing or programming alone. It would also be ideal for anyone with experience in front- or back-end web development or human-computer interaction and want to sharpen their visual design and analysis skills for UI or UX. These courses are ideal for anyone with some experience in graphic or visual design and who would like to build their skill set in UI or UX for app and web design. This is the fourth and last course in the UI/UX Design Specialization, which brings a design-centric approach to user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design, and offers practical, skill-based instruction centered around a visual communications perspective, rather than on one focused on marketing or programming alone. If you are intending to complete the assignments in this course to earn a certificate you must complete the Strategy and Information Architecture course first so you have the materials and data needed to begin creating wireframes and mockups in this course. This course is the continuation of the course Web Design: Strategy and Information Architecture, in which students completed the first half of a large scale project-developing a comprehensive plan for a complex website. The different web technologies that make the web work, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, server-side coding, and databases. The relationship between design and programming and whether it is important to know how to code Responsive web design and mobile web challenges This course is focused on the application of the early UX research to actual user interfaces: the creation of wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and clickable prototypes.

Fontforge mac subset char12/31/2023 But at the moment, for most purposes, stripping the font down to ISO Latin 1 (ISO 8859-1) will do what we need it to do, and significantly reduce its size. I don’t know too much about the others, but Glyphs allows you to do it with a python macro on export (python is the equivalent of javascript for type designers, which I guess is unsurprising since its creator, Guido van Rossum, is the brother of designer and early PostScript font pioneer Just van Rossum).ĭynamic subsetting, where the browser downloads just those parts of the font it needs, will be the way to go, once some standards emerge (because we never know when someone is going to want to refer to Jarosław Zieliński, Hồ Chí Minh or Þuríður Backman). The heavyweight font editors (Glyphs, FontLab, Robofont and the open source FontForge) also allow for subsets to be made. There are two command line applications - of which pyftsubset is one - which can do the job. But it sounds from your experience that it still doesn‘t work? However Font Squirrel may in the meantime have tweaked their code. Substitution2: "'smcp' Lowercase to Small Capitals lookup 1 subtable" e.What I had heard in the type design forums is that Font Squirrel couldn’t be used for subsetting variable fonts - it converts them back into static fonts. I am happy to provide more answers if anything is not clear. I probably have to set another number or make this change differently. When I opened the newly generated new file again in FontForge, it correctly showed letters on the "lowered" position, but it seems like this preview does not really show the position where it will be placed. I also tried to move the whole letter in the editor lower and it didn't work (it was on the same position). I also tried to change the vector definition in the editor of particular letter and it worked (I saw the change once new font was generated). The result was always the same as the original. In the main preview window, all the letters moved down as they should once I clicked OK in the transform window.I was not sure which presented options set to be checked and which to be unchecked but I tried quite a number of combinations (always with the same result). I set Y to minus value (I need to shift it down) and clicked ok.I went to Element->Transformations->Transform.I opened FontForge and particular font.Thank you for such a prompt reply! I really appreciate it.

Precipitate labour pdf12/31/2023 This term reflects lack of progressive cervical dilation or lack of fetal descent. Your Body Precipitous labor and birth By Karen Miles Medically reviewed by Layan Alrahmani, M.D., ob-gyn, MFM A precipitous labor is one that happens very quickly. A second phrase, failure to progress in either spontaneous or stimulated labor, has become an increasingly popular description of ineffectual labor. True disproportion is a tenuous diagnosis because many women who undergo cesarean delivery for this reason subsequently deliver even larger newborns vaginally in subsequent pregnancies. Such absolute disproportion is now rare, and most cases result from malposition of the fetal head within the pelvis (asynclitism) or from ineffective uterine contractions. Western world, are often burdened by the fears of labor pains and postpartum complications associated with. minimise precipitating factors for seizures during labour such as. But, the term originated at a time when the main indication for cesarean delivery was overt pelvic contracture due to rickets ( Olah, 1994). Many nulliparous women, most especially in the. Pregnant WWE should be counselled that the risk of seizures in labour is low. Of these, cephalopelvic disproportion is a term that came into use before the 20th century to describe obstructed labor resulting from disparity between the fetal head size and maternal pelvis. Commonly used expressions today such as cephalopelvic disproportion and failure to progress are used to describe ineffective labors. More simply, these alterations can be mechanistically simplified into three categories that include abnormalities of the powers-uterine contractility and maternal expulsive effort of the passenger-the fetus and of the passage-the pelvis and lower reproductive tract.Ībnormalities shown in Table 23-1 often interact singly or in combination to produce dysfunctional labor. Or, soft tissue abnormalities of the reproductive tract may form an obstacle to fetal descent. Last, structural changes can contract the maternal bony pelvis. Second, fetal abnormalities of presentation, position, or anatomy may slow progress. Also, voluntary maternal muscle effort during second-stage labor may be inadequate. First, uterine contractions may be insufficiently strong or inappropriately coordinated to efface and dilate the cervix- uterine dysfunction. Similar to the factors described by Williams, dystocia arises from three distinct abnormality categories. It literally means difficult labor and is characterized by abnormally slow labor progress. The term dystocia as described by Williams in the first edition of this text still applies today.

Of this group, you’ll most likely see the MR16 in indoor settings due to their sleek style and spotlighting capabilities. They usually use low voltage wiring systems, making them an excellent choice for landscaping applications like path and driveway lighting, gazebo lights, and paver lights. Because of this, multifaceted reflectors are popularly used in track lights, recessed lights, desks, and display cases. In the MR group, bulbs emit a concentrated beam of directionally focused light and can come in wide varieties of colors. The most common base types include the E26 and E27, as well as the G53 screw pin base. The major difference between PAR and BR lights lies in their focus-BR lights provide a wider wash, while PAR lights can offer more focused beams. PAR, parabolic aluminized reflector, are typically higher wattage bulbs which can provide a lot of light. PAR group bulbs are typically used as outdoor lighting, like BR lights. Type PAR Light Bulbs: PAR16, PAR20, PAR30, PAR36, PAR38 The most common are the BR30 and R20 bulbs, and they typically connect with the E26 or E27 bases. While not as common as the A19, you’re still quite likely to see these bulbs in the home as outdoor floodlights or in recessed lighting. Type BR Light Bulbs: BR20/R20, BR30, BR40īulbs in the R and BR group include reflectors and bulged reflectors, respectively. Like bulbs in the A group, their most common base types are the E26 and E27 medium screw in bases, the E12 candelabra base, as well as the E17 base. They are therefore often referred to as candle bulbs, and are typically used in decorative lighting such as chandeliers, pendants wall sconces, accent or pendant lights, and other decorative fixtures. Type B and C bulbs are longer and have a tip at the end of the bulb, resembling a candle flame. Type B and C Light Bulbs: B10, C7, C9, C15, CA10 Be mindful of this difference when shopping for your standard light bulbs! However, not all E26 bases must use A19 bulb heads. They’re usually more budget-friendly than fluorescent bulbs but contain mercury and can take a while to warm up to full brightness.Ī19 and E26 bulbs are not the same, though all A19 lamps and light fittings have an E26 base. However, A19s are more commonly being replaced with CFL Twists or Spirals due to their improved energy efficiency.ĬFLs usually come in a spiral-shaped design and use minimal amounts of energy to emit a softer glow. You are most likely to see the A19, which is the standard light bulb size. They’re typically compatible with medium screw bases (E26 and E27) or the candelabra base (E12). T hey work well in various household fixtures, hall lighting, ceiling fans, and more. There are four prominent light bulb types: light-emitting diode (LED), compact fluorescent (CFL), incandescent, and halogen. For a helpful quick-select tool, check out our light bulb size chart ! Now, let’s explore the light bulb types and codes you are most likely to see.īulbs within the A group are widely used when it comes to standard household lighting. Bi-pin, a pin-in base with two points of contact: G4 or GU24.Candelabra, a smaller screw in base: E12.Standard-Medium, a regular sized screw in base: E26 or E27. The most common light bulb base sizes include: If you find yourself unsure of your bulb’s base compatibility, consult a store associate for advice in finding the best fit. They are identified by light bulb base codes, with the letter denoting the shape of the base and the number denoting the size. Light bulb bases also come in a variety of sizes.

Calliope muse of12/30/2023 It is important to my argument that the king is visualized in the proem of the Theogony as he pronounces his judgment. Moreover, it has been suggested that this parallel is Hesiod's innovation, and in fact the Theogony is the only extant poem in which the Muses are said to aid rulers as well as poets (Thalmann 1984:140, espec. Her name literally means "beauty of voice," 9 which confers the power of persuasion on both the poetic performance and the royal functions: she bestows on both the gift of an efficient utterance. 8 Only Calliope can bestow the Muses' gift on the kings and link poetry to the royal art of persuasion. 7 Normally, the Muses are the goddesses of poetry, whereas princes or kings depend on Zeus but, at the same time, Hesiod demonstrates the relationship between poet and king, whom he clearly thinks of as parallel beneficiaries of Calliope's favor. This introduction of kings in the proem and their dependence on Calliope has seemed irrelevant and quite strange to some commentators. 6Ĭalliope is the most outstanding of the group because through her the transition is made from the Muses to the revered princes. And when he passes through a gathering, they greet him as a god with gentle reverence, and he is conspicuous amongst the assembled: such is the holy gift of the Muses to men. All the people look towards him while he settles causes with true judgements: and he, speaking surely, would soon make wise and even of a great quarrel for therefore are there princes wise in heart, because when the people are being misguided in their assembly, they set right the matter again with ease, persuading them with gentle words. and Calliope, who is the chiefest of them all, for she attends on worshipful princes: whomsoever of heaven-nourished princes the daughters of great Zeus honour, and behold him at his birth, they pour sweet dew upon his tongue, and from his lips flow gracious words. He enumerates the Muses and finally sets Calliope apart: He is referring to lines 80-103 of the Hesiodic proem, which concern the power of the Muses to intervene in human affairs more precisely, Hesiod mentions the gifts of the Muses to men, rulers and poets. 5 Herodes, a teacher of rhetoric, mentions there the muse Calliope in particular and her special relation, in Hesiod, to the kings. mentions the Hesiodic Muses in a way that will help introduce the section of the Theogony's proem under discussion here. We may note again a passage from Plutarch who around 100 C.E. Hesiod begins his Theogony with a "Hymn to the Nine Muses" in lines 77-79, he gives the list of their names. From the perspective of our present argument, it is significant that Memory and the Muses are also closely connected with the notion of persuasion. As rhythmical song, the Muse is inseparable from poetic Memory and is necessary for the poet's inspiration as well as for his oral composition. 3 Each one, in other words, bore the name of an essential aspect of poetical function. 2 And Pausanias tells us that the Muses were three in number and had the names of Meletê (Practice), Mnêmê (Memory) and Aoidê (Song). According to a passage in Plutarch, the Muses were also called Mneiai (Memories) in some places. Indeed, Memory is well known as the mother of the Muses. 1 Around the seventh century B.C.E., in his poem entitled Theogony, Hesiod commemorates the birth of the Muses and identifies them as the daughters of the goddess Mnemosyne and Zeus (lines 53-65). The relation of the Muses in ancient Greece, especially during the archaic and the beginning of the classical period with which this paper is concerned, to the notion of memory is apparent first by their very name: the word mousa can be related to the verb mimnêskô ("remind," "bring, put in mind").
